WiLS Board

The WiLS Board is composed of representatives of WiLS member libraries. Each type of library constituency represented on the WiLS Board chooses its own representative. Where feasible, the selection process is conducted at a meeting of the respective library community— representatives of Public Library Systems (SRLAAW), Private Academic Libraries (WAICU), University of Wisconsin Libraries (CUWL), Technical College Libraries (Tech Colleges) are selected in this way. Representatives of public, school and special libraries are chosen through a nomination and election process conducted via email.

There are twelve (12) voting positions on the WiLS Board. This includes one (1) representative for each type of library in the WiLS membership plus the Division of Libraries, Technology and Community Learning in the Department of Public instruction. The remaining five (5) positions are allocated across the groups according to the level of expenditures for WiLS services by the constituency as a whole. This allocation is basic on a running three-year average. Each constituency is asked to also select an alternate to assure full representation at all meetings. Board members serve three-year terms.
