WorldCat Resource Sharing Borrowing Online course
This workshop focuses on the basic procedures needed to create and manage an ILL borrowing request on OCLC’s WorldCat Resource Sharing (WCRS) service. Topics include an overview of the FirstSearch interface, the basic ILL cycle, creating Constant Data records, creating ILL borrowing requests, and simple management of ILL requests. WorldCat Resource Sharing Lending Online course
This workshop focuses on the procedures needed to respond to an ILL request through the OCLC WorldCat Resource Sharing (WCRS) service. Topics include a review of the basic ILL cycle, the options for responding to requests using the Request Manager, and how to set-up the administrative features that support lending. Peer Council is an assembly of technical services librarians in Wisconsin. The WiLS Peer Council meetings are an opportunity to learn new things, share information with peers, and interact with a diverse group with shared common interests.

OCTOBER LIBRARY COMMUNITY GET-TOGETHERS (FREE)
Informal ½ day sessions will give you the opportunity to…
…build relationships and partnerships with other libraries in your area
…share ideas for library service in the area and state
…hear about new projects and successes in other libraries
…bounce ideas off other library types

Sessions will include brief presentations from fellow library staff, a discussion about moving the Wisconsin library community more toward adaptability (to help with WiLS strategic planning, along with other initiatives), and plenty of time for networking and sharing. All sessions will be held from 1:00-4:00 pm. There is no cost to attend.

Online events: Online event registration will be closed 2 business days before the event.

Refunds will not be given for online events. Archives will be made available to registrants shortly after the event. These archives should be available for a full year.

IN-PERSON EVENTS______________________________________________________              

Cancellations must be made at least two business days prior to the event in order to receive a refund. If a registrant cancels less than two working days prior to the date of the event, the registrant remains responsible for payment; no fees will be refunded.

A substitute may take the place of the original registrant, but either the registrant or their institution is responsible for coordinating and communicating changes to WiLS. Cancellations and/or substitutions may be reported to Jen Champoux at 608.890.2356 or email jchampoux@wils.wisc.edu

If an event is canceled by WiLS, due to low registration or inclement weather, registrants will be notified and fees will be refunded.

WEB CONFERENCING SYSTEM SETUP: ADOBE CONNECT__________________________

You need an up to date Windows or Macintosh based computer running an up to date operating system and browser software.  You should be  connected to broadband or faster internet access.

Adobe Connect uses Voice over IP (VoIP) for audio. Attendees will need speakers on their computer to hear the session. If they want to contribute to the voice conversation they will also need to have a microphone.
