AskAway
AskAway is a consortium of Wisconsin libraries formed to offer Virtual Reference services to the library patrons of Wisconsin. AskAway recently switched from using the QuestionPoint/247 Reference system to the LibraryH3lp service to deliver chat based virtual reference to their patrons. Each of the participating libraries are participating in a combined stand alone and shared state-wide chat-based reference service. Staffing coverages are being developed as the AskAway consortium re-invents itself utilizing the new LibraryH3lp service.
AskAway participating libraries comprise all types and sizes. The consortium is open to any Wisconsin library to join. For implementation and training information, contact Mark Beatty (mbeatty@wils.wisc.edu).
Each AskAway library contributes as it can some coverage time to the 24/7 cooperative (see coverage grid).
