Reference Service

Resource Hungry Questions

Sometimes reference staff encounter questions that require specialized tools for the answers; questions beyond their library's resources, such as:
— Where would I find the location of a town in Germany that is not on current maps?
— What is the impact factor for the Journal of Botanical Sciences?
— It doesn't appear that there are local resources in my area of research. Could you recommend any helpful sources on the UW-Madison campus?
— Would you verify that this citation is correct?
— Can you search to see if there is information on Marshall McLuhan?
