PsycTESTS and PsycTHERAPY trials are availble at forms.apa.org/freetrial. PsycTHERAPY is available exclusively from the APA and is composed of videos of actual therapy sessions.  PsycTESTS will be made available from OVID, EBSCO and ProQuest, but is currently available from the APA.

As of October 31, American Psychiatric Publishing migrated their journals off Highwire Press and they are now available exclusively on the new PsychiatryOnline.org platform.

Bowker is offering 40% off of the complete package of Bowker's Book Analysis System Books in Print (BIP), Book Analysis System (BBAS) and Resources for College Libraries (RCL). Libraries already subscribing to BIP will get 25% off a subscription to BBAS (which includes RCL). For FAQ on BBAS see here. Through December 1, there is a discount offered on Springer e-books and e-journals with an additional discount for libraries that purchase e-books AND e-journals.

For e-journals, libraries maintain full archival rights and electronic access on SpringerLink to their current title list, plus full electronic access to all of Springer's Journals (1,824 titles) from 1997-Present. For e-books, libraries purchase on an ownership business model and have unlimited simultaneous users for over 23,000 titles depending on the packages purchased.  Full title lists are here. My favorite part of the job is:  Small picture: providing public and K-12 libraries with real-world solutions to their MARC cataloging issues. Loftier goals: making libraries more effective libraries, to facilitate the flow of and access to information, and to help expand our collective literacy.

The database/product I am most excited about and why is: if I had to pick one, it would be MARC Mechanic Express, because of the sheer volume of work this data service can perform with a very short turn-around. It can fix, standardize, update and enhance a library's entire MARC catalog in a meaningful way to improve a library's circulation, ease of collection management, and stronger support for your curriculum.  It gets at the core of what Mitinet is about, to improve the quality and reliability of a library's MARC data because great data fuels successful automation, and media specialists and librarians don't have the time to do this work themselves.

Something most people don't know about me is: I split my week between Mitinet Monday-Wednesday-Friday and being a stay-at-home dad on Tuesday-Thursday with my son Henry, who is three, and daughter Greta, who is two.  The contrast between Mitinet days and "daddy days" is remarkable, and it's true what they say, this time does go fast.
