Dave Nuzzo of the University of Buffalo (New York). In the first hour,

Dave Nuzzo will speak about Workflow and Library Staff Influx: In our ever-changing, technical-services environment, concerted efforts are, or should be, continually made to revise workflows and procedures to address these changes. No matter how successful these efforts are, however, they are just the beginning of the task; it is not unusual to find staffing issues and attitudes a step or two behind in the evolutionary process. Failure to address and encourage staff evolution is a mistake we made during the PC revolution, and many of us are making it again. Dave will discuss the benefits of changing the focus and expectations of our staffs, and ways to begin achieving a more productive, happier work environment. He also will reveal and discuss the rather surprising results of a recent survey of library assistants.

What is Peer Council?
Peer Council is what other entities often call a user group. In Wisconsin, it is important to the WiLS member libraries that the aspect of equal participation by all be emphasized and always apparent with the use of the word "peer." The Peer Council meetings are an opportunity to talk with your peers and appreciate WiLS member library differences as well as similarities. WiLS, along with the elected Peer Council officers, plan these meetings.
