It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work with the librarians and media specialists of Wisconsin for the past 21 years. I hope the experience has been positive for you as well. My retirement party is September 30, 2010 from 2-4 in room 460 of Memorial Library (right next door to the WiLS office). It would please me greatly to see those of you who are able to attend.
My colleagues are putting together a memory book with letters/emails from people who would like to share their thoughts with me. They can be sent to Sara Gold at sgold@wils.wisc.edu
My email address will remain cbradley@wils.wisc.edu, so feel free to get in touch.

New Staff of WiLS Level 1 Libraries*
WiLS recently visited Lawrence University's Mudd Library for a Technical Services workflow analysis. While there, we met a recent addition to the department, Jill Thomas. Jill started as the Director of Technical Services on May 3rd, 2010. She comes to Wisconsin from Boston where she worked at Boston College and Harvard University. She is also trained as a SCCTP instructor (Serials Cataloging Cooperative Training Program) for Advanced Serials Cataloging and E-Serials Cataloging so if you need some help with serials cataloging, give her a call. Although she spent the first half of her life on the West Coast, and the second half on the East Coast, Jill looks forward to settling into the friendly Mid-West. If you see her at a WiLS sponsored event, please introduce yourself. Her email is jill.g.thomas@lawrence.edu and her phone number is (920)832-7013.

Digital Project Dispatch
The Dog of the Month is Bailey, a yellow Labrador retriever and standard poodle mix, who's the companion of Ewa Barczyk, The Director of Golda Meir Library at UW-Milwaukee. Ewa suggests not mentioning the word "ball" around Bailey as she is obsessed with fetch. Bailey is also inclined towards vegetarianism and will bypass the prime rib in the kitchen in pursuit of a banana being peeled upstairs. In fact, she has super keen hearing for a banana being peeled anywhere! Her favorite book is The Women: a novel by TC Boyle, which she ate. |
