Dogs of Wisconsin Libraries Dog of the Month
The Dog of the Month is Gracie, a Husky mix, who's the companion of Antoinette Powell, The Music Librarian at the Seeley G Mudd Library at Lawrence University. Because of her dark hair and striking blue eyes, Gracie was named after Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane. Gracie was originally rescued by Antoinette's brother-in-law in New York, but instead of moving with him to Arizona, she found a home with Antoinette in Appleton. Adept at catching mice, Gracie is also looking forward to another winter in Wisconsin.
For information on adding your dog, see Dogs of WI Libraries. |

Join OCLC and Library Journal for a free online symposium,
November 17, 2010 from 1 - 3pm (ET).
The ethics of innovation: Navigating privacy, policy and service issues
A discussion of ethics has been part of the professional landscape since 1903 when Mary Plummer, ALA President, presented the first code of ethics for librarians. Since then, the information services landscape has only become more challenging and complex.
Join OCLC and Library Journal on Wednesday, Nov 17th from 1-3 p.m. Eastern Time for our second online symposium. We'll discuss the ways in which ethical considerations affect innovation, privacy issues and how libraries deliver services. From 3-4 p.m. we'll have a dedicated Twitter hour with the keynote speakers and librarian moderator. There's no travel, no cost. Just insight. Register today at www.oclc.org/innovation
